USPC Championships 2011

 Please read the rule books and the following newsletters for the discipline you are participating in. 

It is my intent to eventually post all information needed by our members in order to coordinate all regional business involved in organizing  our  Championship experience. This will help relieve a lot of the stress that goes along with this and  allow us to just have more fun. MOST LINKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED UNTIL INFORMATION AND FORMS ARE AVALIABLE.

Team  Coordinators, Will work with teams to pick captains  assist in coordinating tack rooms, volunteers, chaperones, coaches, uniforms and transportation of same. Please let me know if you can help me with these responsibilities.

Lisa Sheridan has volunteered to organize practices for our Games Teams.

ROOMS: Hotel: Clarion Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn) Phone number: 859-233-0512

• Address:  1950 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY   40511 (it is about 5 miles from Horse Park)

• Price:  $95 per night (includes a breakfast buffet) When making reservation tell them that you want a room from the Deep South Region Pony club block.

• Deadline for reservation:  June 22nd  (there is a high demand for this hotel which makes this deadline so early, after this date our block of rooms will be released)

• FYI: This is a dog friendly hotel, but you will need to ask what their fee is for having a dog in the room

COST:  TBA once we get final head count of competitors and cost for instruction.

CHAMPIONSHIP SHIRTS:   Shirts will be changing for this year (same color shirt that will be used for the USPC AM our region is hosting) so all competitors will need to purchase one for this year.  Additional shirts for parents can be ordered also. Shirts are $25 each and need to be paid with a personal check written to DSR.

Deadline for paperwork:  June 15th, send to PK (351 Maxine Dr, Baton Rouge, LA  70808).  The information from the Competitor Information Form will be used by Lena to submit the electronic entry.  Once Lena has made the region's team entries, e-mails will be sent to the parent/guardian of each competitor. These e-mails will contain a link to the online Competitor Information Form that MUST be filled out online before July 8th, 2011.  If you have trouble completing these forms online please contact Erin Woodall, Activities Assistant, or Wayne Quarles, Activities Director.

Teams: Listed below are the qualifiers for Championships from our rallies that have been completed to date. I will update this as we continue with our Rallies.. As you know the top 4 in each division are invited to compete as long as it is determined they can compete safely..  Games is a five member team. Should one or more of them choose not to or decides to compete in another division they also qualified for, then the next person on the list will be eligible.

Long List: The Organizing committee has what they call a long list. In the event they have openings in a particular division they will pull from this list. You will then be asked to be a scramble member and compete.  I encourage all of you who want to attend Championships to send me your paper work now and if you are not placed on one of our teams I will send your name in on the Long List.

Paper Work Required:  Links will be active when forms are posted

• Championship Competitors  Information Form  
• 1 copy of a 12 month Coggins (draw date of July 24th 2011 or later).  Name has to be the same on coggins as on Entry Form
• Shirt payment - $25 per shirt; personal check written to DSR
•  Qualifying Affidavit Form 2 signed forms must accompany all Eventing  entries.
• 2011 USEA Entry Form  Eventing Only

• Medical Card:  Medical armbands have to be worn at  all times while on rally grounds.

• Deposit - $50 personal check written to USPC 

After teams are complete you will asked for club checks, coaches & chaperone forms.

 Please send completed paper work to RS. Only send if you have all items completed. We will send incomplete packages back.

In order for all of you to follow the status of the team formation I will be coloring in the current status of each Qualifier as I receive your information. This will allow you to tract your chances, verify I received your information and that I received your DCs approval of your "Good Standing In The Club". DCs please notify and refer to this page for your members not having access to the internet.

  In order to be eligible to attend  champions, competitors must have attended a Regional Quiz Rally  

If your name is posted below: CONGRATULATIONS !! Sorry only fist 10 qualifiers are posted.

Names of qualifiers will be posted after the regional rally.

Please follow the following steps.

• Please let me know if you do not have any intention of going to Championships. "Will Not Attend"
• Notify me by E-Mail that you would like to attend  Championships and are planning on going if we can place you. mailto:rstronsky@att.net Yellow
• Received  your DCs verification of  your standing. Pink
• Received  all required forms mentioned above. Red
• Received your club check and volunteer information from your parents. Green
• You attended Champ Camp and Pack your bags!!!

The top 4 in each division will make up our regional teams. Top 5 in Games. Once teams are selected practices will start soon.

Deadline for Games Qualifiers is March 1st. After this date you will be removed from the list
